Choosing a basketball program can be a difficult and sometimes stressful process. If you are having trouble deciding, we suggest that you ask these three questions about the programs you are considering. By finding these answers, you will learn a lot about the various programs and be able to make a more informed decision.

Question 1 - What kind of a return will we receive on our investment? You and your family are considering putting a lot of time, effort and money into your son's development. It is important to understand what a program does to ensure that your son has the best possible opportunity to reach his potential.

Question 2 - Who will be coaching my son and what makes them a good coach? The truth is that anyone can coach a traveling basketball team. It doesn't require a degree, training or any actual experience. Make sure that you know exactly who will be coaching your son, what their responsibilities will be and what makes them the right coach for your son. This then leads to the question, where can I find out more information? We suggest that you go and talk to your high school coach. He will have a strong understanding of what programs are a good fit for you and your family. And be sure to consider this: a lot of coaches have played the game, sometimes at a high level, but not all coaches can communicate with players. Be sure that the coach is able to effectively transfer their knowledge to the players.

Question 3 - How does the organization operate? A program's philosophy and goals will tell you a lot about what your son will learn and the type of experience he is going to have.

Getting truthful answers to these questions can be difficult. We suggest talking to the people that direct the programs. Then follow up by talking to people outside of the program that have experience with them.

If you would like to contact the directors of the Idaho Select program, we would be happy to speak with you. Please give us a call when you have a moment to talk. Clint's number is (208) 989-1550 and Vince's number is (208) 830-7115. We are pressure free and would enjoy the opportunity to tell you what we do and how we operate.
